“My husband and I moved to Porters Neck Village almost 3 years ago. All of our friends asked us why we were moving to a Life Care Community at such a young age (we were 73). We told them, although we were still capable, we no longer wanted to care for a home.

At Porters Neck Village we have maintenance-free living. Our daughter refers to it as resort-style living. I encourage people to do their research early, while you still have the energy to go visit multiple Life Care Communities. You need to find the one that’s right for you.

My husband refers to Porters Neck Village as “Our Happy Place”. It’s just like when you took your kids on their college-search trips…you’ll know it when you see it! Come visit Porters Neck Village and see for yourself!”

The dedication of the team members to residents was impressive. I planned to age at home until experiencing severe medical issues and I/family discussed CCRC’s.

After living here for 2 months, I really enjoy the Village and fully agree with those residents who told me over the years “I should have come here sooner! “ I so enjoy having dinner with different residents each week- extraordinary people!”

“I think that Porters Neck Village is just a beautiful facility. I have been looking around for options for my parents, because they are thinking of the future, but we decided to go ahead and get a place here, now.

First it is just beautiful with walking pathways, bridges, and a large pond. (We saw turtles sunning themselves near the bridge!) Plus they have physical fitness, therapy, swimming, and other country club type amenities. They have fun social outings and events. They are located close to the beach, a golf club and shops.

In addition to it just feeling like a condominium type community, I have the peace of mind that emergency services and any needed care is just a step away. I have looked at other places, but we are so happy we found this one.

All of the people are so helpful and friendly. A lady named Lisa Polanski helped us. Ask for her! She is fantastic and so knowledgeable and accommodating to what my parents need at this stage and for in the future. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I wish they would lower the age requirement so I could move in!”

During the “getting to know you phase”, the PNV staff gave us free range to chat with any staff member or resident, participate in any activity, partake in meals & even stay overnight to enjoy the full Porters Neck Village experience. Once we signed up, they provided step by step guidance, helpful tips and expert assistance throughout the relocation process.

Caring & support are the hallmarks of the services provided. Being here now for 8 months, we are sure we made the right choice in moving to Porters Neck Village.”

“We had been retired for 15 years and in our 70’s. It was getting tougher and tougher to maintain our single-family home and lifestyle. We decided to investigate a senior independent living facility. My wife kept detailed financial records, so it was a minor exercise to determine our detailed monthly cost of living. We were surprised to find that our current cost of living was very close to the monthly fee at Porters Neck Village.

We then made a second analysis including services provided at Porters Neck Village that we were not currently taking advantage of: house cleaning, pool and full fitness facilities with live fitness training, 24-hour security and emergency health care, transportation to off-site activities, etc. etc. etc.

The decision was made for us. It would cost us hundreds of dollars more a month to add these services to our current lifestyle. We would be foolish not to take advantage of them by moving to Porters Neck Village. We have lived at Porters Neck Village for nine years now and have never regretted the move.”
