Since 1988, Porters Neck Village has been a cornerstone of the Wilmington, NC, community, dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for its residents. Legacy and Planned Giving
- Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) – Contributing to a fund and recommending grants to the Foundation.
- Beneficiary Designations – Naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in life insurance policies, or retirement accounts
- Return of Capital from Porters Neck Village – designate the Foundation as a recipient of a portion of your Return of Capital.
- Bequests and Wills – Leaving a portion of one’s estate to the Foundation.
- Charitable Trusts – Establishing a trust that benefits the Foundation.
Stock and Asset Donations
- Stock Transfers – Donating appreciated stocks or securities, often with tax benefits.
- Real Estate – Gifting property that can be sold to benefit the Foundation.
Direct Financial Contributions
- One-Time Donations – A single payment made online, by mail, or in person.
- Pledges – A promise to donate a specific amount over a period of time.

Matthew BeattyDirector Matthew BeattyDirectorMember of the PNV Board of Directors.
Matthew lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his wife, Adrienne, and their four kids: Jackson, Abigail, Bennett and Davis.
He is a third-generation Thrivent financial advisor, the lead advisor and the team’s chief operating officer.
Matthew is committed to helping families create and implement planning strategies that are tailored to their unique situation.

Jack FullerPresident Jack FullerPresident
Past President of the PNV Board of Directors; Resident.
Mr. Fuller retired as Chairman of the Board of GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) in July 2011 after 38 years with GE. He previously served as President and CEO of the GEH alliance, CEO of Global Nuclear Fuels and as the CFO for GE the nuclear business.
He chaired the Cape Fear Community College Foundation Board and worked with the Wilson Center to develop Broadway for a Better World.
Mr. Fuller was an independent director of Ozz Clean Energy, Upwind Solutions and PAR Systems working on strategic, operational, and governance issues.
Mr. Fuller is the former chairman of the board of Baltimore-based GSE Systems and is a former member, chair and vice-chair of the NHRMC Board of Trustees.

Kara GansmannSecretary Kara GansmannSecretary
Current VP of the PNV Board of Directors.
Kara Gansmann devotes her entire practice to elder law and estate planning in the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner LLP (CSH Law).
Kara is especially well-suited for this practice thanks to her strong interpersonal skills, her diplomatic demeanor, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Â She brings a solid sense of collegiality to her work with both clients and professionals, alike.
In the courtroom or in private consultations, Kara leads a team of experienced professionals who also focus on elder law needs. Kara frequently presents on elder law issues to community organizations across Southeastern North Carolina.
She is a prolific writer on legal issues affecting seniors, and she volunteers for and actively supports organizations that improve seniors’ lives.

Resident at PNV.
Geoff Magrath holds a B.A. in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA in Corporate Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
He began his career as an Investment Analyst with MetLife before serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps. Following his military service, Geoff served in several key financial executive roles at Datran Corporation, IU International, and Axel Johnson Inc.
He concluded his career as Executive Vice President of BDS Management Group from 1992 to 2000

Resident at PNV.
Holly White recently retired after a distinguished 47-year career in fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Over the course of her career, she held key roles both within nonprofit institutions and as a consultant and project manager, guiding organizations through successful development initiatives and campaigns. Holly has been actively involved with several fundraising trade organizations and has generously shared her time as a volunteer with various local conservation groups, reflecting her long-standing commitment to community and environmental stewardship

Susanne DelGrossoPorters Neck Village Liaison Susanne DelGrossoPorters Neck Village Liaison
With over 20 years of experience in corporate philanthropy and nonprofit leadership, Susanne DelGrosso brings a strong track record of building sustainable resources and community partnerships.
As former Community Relations Director at Goodyear Tire Rubber Co., she managed $4.1 million in annual contributions and led national volunteer initiatives. She also raised $1.3 million annually through United Way campaigns.
Since 2013, Susanne has held leadership roles at Porters Neck Village, aligning the Foundation’s goals with resident and staff needs. A skilled grant writer and strategist, she has served on several nonprofit boards and is dedicated to creating a lasting legacy of enrichment and engagement at Porters Neck Village.
